New York Part II

New York

Hou ya doo-in?” Did you know that as a gateway for foreign immigrants New York City is the most linguistically diverse city in the world with more than 800 languages spoken within its five boroughs? This "Melting Pot" also has the largest Jewish population outside of Israel as well as the largest Chinese population outside of Asia and the largest Puerto Rican population of any city in the world.

With a population of more than eight million people, the "Big Apple" is the largest city in the United States of America. But can you imagine moving in a city of such sheer size and density. Now imagine having to move on just one day! Until the 1920’s May 1 was “Moving Day” in the "City that Never Sleeps." Everyone moving into the city had to move on this day! And you thought “alternate side of the street parking” was chaotic!

Nevertheless, it is because of this density of people and the richness of its diverse neighborhoods that makes "Gotham" such an attraction for the photographer. From capturing ordinary people, celebrities, hippies, politicians, protesters or just plain urbanization, the "Metropolis" has everything for the essential collection. With so much to photograph it is easy to get lost in the work and neglect to share.  We have not done that here!
