United Kingdom

Britain

No, no, it’s just France and Germany! Only Britain’s Great!” And so goes the cheeky retort of the “Time Lord Victorious” in getting the facts straight of an enthusiastic but error prone Earth historian. Very few would argue against the unrivaled dominance of Britain which at the height of its power under Queen Victoria would control nearly one-quarter of the world’s land surface and more than one-quarter of its total population.

In Scripture, Britain would become the “horn” (or ruling dynasty, kingdom) that would “pluck up from before it “three other “horns”. Britain’s unmatched naval might dominated the rival nations of France, Spain and The Netherlands to rule the “seven seas” supreme (Daniel 7:7,8). In time, however, a break-away colony in the west would eventually gain independence and then work in close cooperation with Britain to form a dual-world power (Anglo-American).

It comes as no surprise that according to recent Census data, over 100 different languages are spoken across the UK and of the 56.1 million residents of England, 40% of people say English is not their mother tongue. London has the greatest number of migrants among all regions giving the street photographer a wonderful opportunity to capture all that diversity in just one place. But you would be amiss to limit yourself to this one region when there is so much to offer on this island nation.
