Bienvenido! Did you know that Spain has one of the oldest constitutional monarchies in the world, and was one of three prominent kingdoms vanquished by the British empire by the 18th century? Nevertheless, its contributions to world culture which includes art, literature, haute-cuisine, sports and exploration cannot be overstated.

Perhaps an even more interesting observation is that ‘Spaniards love to leisure: spending on average approximately 16 out of every 24 hours laying around, eating, drinking and sleeping.’ One may wonder how anything gets accomplished!

For a photographer however, this is a haven to capture people doing what people do. It may come as no surprise to some that many photographs you see throughout this gallery are from virtually every region of Spain. This month we feature just a sample of the richness of its population as well as those who make their way to this exquisite country.
